Travel Notes

For Ladies Only

Text by Teguh Sudarisman

If you're a man, there are certain parts of the Aston Bali Resort & Spa that are off limits to you. When you enter enter the main floor in the north wing, the receptionist will smile and tell you, "Sorry, Sir, but it's ladies only in this area."

ladies only

The steady increase in female visitors has prompted the Aston Bali Resort & Spa, which has 187 rooms and suites, to set aside an entire floor in the north wing as the Ladies Floor. All the guests in these 20 rooms, and all the staff – receptionists, cleaners, and even security personnel – are women.

The Ladies Floor provides direct access to the Biwana Spa at the end of the hall. The spa offers a wide range of services for guests who wish to be pampered – traditional Balinese treatments and massage in a variety of styles, including Hawaiian Lomilomi massage. The Aston also provides several other facilities aimed especially at women – classes in aquarobics, flower arranging, yoga, and Balinese cooking and dance.

The entire Ladies Floor is decorated in rich purple hues. Each room is designed with a feminine touch, from the extra large flowerpots to the standing lamps, with their gentle glow. Each bathroom is equipped with aromatic lavender bath supplies, manicure and pedicure equipment, essential oils and a burner, bath salts, and other special touches to enhance guests' beauty and comfort.

Apart from use of the spa, the Ladies Floor accommodation packages include other special services, such as healthy dinners with calorie-controlled menus, afternoon tea featuring special tea varieties, and access to savor one's favorite cocktails while enjoying the sea breeze and the sound of the waves at By The C Restaurant & Lounge.
